Glendale Eminent Domain Case Appears Over, Landowners 'Skeptical'

GLENDALE, Colo. (CBS4) - A fight over land development in Glendale appears to be over.

A rug business was at odds with the City of Glendale over its property. The owners of the building say the city threatened taking it through eminent domain.

Developers want to build a large outdoor shopping and entertainment center. They now say they plan on building around the rug business.

The owners of Authentic Persian and Oriental Rugs say they "are thrilled that the city has finally stated in writing they have no plans to condemn our property, but we are skeptical of their real intent."

The Kholgy family says they bought the property in 2006 for $6.5 million. Recently they say they have had offers of at least $19 million for the property, but have never had any interest in selling.
