Teen Charged In Connection With Crash That Killed 71-Year-Old Woman

DENVER (CBS4) - A teenager accused of causing a three-car rollover accident in which a 71-year-old Denver woman was killed has been formally charged.

According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Rafael Rodriguez, 19, has been charged with vehicular homicide.

"The charge alleges that on June 12 Rodriguez was driving recklessly at a high rate of speed through the intersection of Chambers and Andrews Drive when he collided with a vehicle, killing Bettie Robinson. Her vehicle then crashed into another vehicle," Kimbrough said in a statement.

Rodriguez is out of custody on a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 21 for his second advisement on the charge.
