Denver Police Say Story From Teen Who Was Shot 'Not Quite Adding Up'

DENVER (CBS4) - Police in Denver are investigating a shooting Monday afternoon.

According to police, the shooting occurred in a parking lot the in the 5300 block of Leetsdale Drive just after 2 p.m.

A male in his late teens was apparently shot in the leg near the KeyBank in the area. The injury isn't considered to be life-threatening. According to police he approached an officer during a traffic stop to say he'd been shot.

"Based on what he's telling us and what we're finding, it's not quite adding up, so we're trying to determine how he was shot," Sonny Jackson with Denver police said.

The teen's name hasn't been released.

No suspect information has been released. Police say the shooting doesn't appear to be random.
