Respiratory Disease Keeping Colorado's Bighorn Sheep Population From Growing

DENVER (CBS4) - Wildlife experts say the Colorado state animal, the bighorn sheep, has a stable population but it's not growing.

The Durango Herald reports it's due to a widespread respiratory disease that has kept the animal's growth numbers low over the past two decades.

The illness can wipe out up to three quarters of a herd.
