The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of the metro area. That warning was allowed to expire but was replaced by a flash flood warning.

The storm brought rain and swirling wind that stripped leaves off trees, flooded intersections and left some without power. Tornado sirens sounded across the eastern part of the metro area, and employees still at work were urged to stay inside.

The storm caused some problems at Denver International Airport. According to DIA, 28 flights had to be diverted to other airports, including Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque and Nebraska.

Xcel Energy reported only minimal power outages in the metro area.
