Geomagnetic Storm Brings Northern Lights To Colorado, Another Storm Possible Late Wednesday
DENVER (CBS4) - The magnificent Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, made an appearance right here in Colorado Monday night.
A strong geomagnetic storm created the beautiful displays from Mother Nature across a large part of the northern hemisphere.
The storm was not projected to produce the lights as far south as Colorado but several photographers caught a glimpse of the celestial wonder in the northeast part of the state.
Local storm chaser and photographer Fawn Wood posted this timelapse of the nothern lights to Facebook.
The Space Weather Prediction Center in Boulder says there is another storm in the forecast for Wednesday night and early Thursday of this week and that the timing bodes well for Aurora watchers in North America.
