New App Promises To Deliver Anything

DENVER (CBS4)- It's a new twist on ride sharing apps like Uber but this one promises to deliver food and almost anything else to your doorstep or wherever you may be.

"You know the term, like, 'Hey can you do me a favor?'" said Favor spokeswoman Erin Vriestra.

Anything you want, delivered, that's the premise behind Favor, a new option for delivery in Denver.

It works just like other apps, users text "runners" to let them know what they want and they'll deliver in less than an hour.

"We have all these Favor runners who are out there doing favors for people," said Vriestra.

The cost: $6 plus five percent of the total amount of your delivery purchase.

"We are seeing a lot of Chipotle and a lot of Illegal Pete's, coffee, Starbucks is really popular," said Vriestra.

Vriestra said they've already hired several dozen delivery workers or "runners" in the downtown Denver area.

"Having a flexible job and making some money on the side, or as a full-time option," said Vriestra.

Denver's thriving tech savvy scene attracted the company, which launched in Austin, Texas in 2013. Favor has since spread to Dallas, Boston and San Diego.

"We think this is a really great climate for us, a lot of young people who are on the go and busy," said Vriestra.

While the app promises to bring you anything your heart desires, Vriestra adds there are a few things that Favor won't deliver, "We do not do alcohol and we do not do marijuana."

The Favor app is free on both iPhone and Android.
