50 New Officers Become Part Of Denver Police Force
DENVER (CBS4)- The Denver Police Department welcomed 60 new officers to its ranks on Friday morning.
The new class is graduating from the police academy. The officers will now begin field training.
Police Chief Robert White spoke to the rookies about the importance of putting community first.
"Make sure they have a voice in the quality of life issues, treat them with respect, show some interest in their issues, if you do those things, the greatest resource that you have will not be the advance in technology. It will be the 650,000 residents that you're sworn to protect," said White.
Along with the new officers, one Denver arson investigator also graduated with the class.
