Officials Suspect Homicide In Colorado Inmate's Death

LIMON, Colo. (AP) — Colorado prison officials are treating the death of an inmate held in Limon as a suspected homicide.

The Colorado Department of Corrections spokeswoman Adrienne Jacobson said Tuesday night that a suspect has been identified in the death of 25-year-old Joshua Edmonds at the Limon Correctional Facility. She says information has been shared with the 18th District Attorney's Office.

The department announced Edmonds' death on Saturday. Jacobson says the coroner's office is conducting a post mortem examination to determine his cause of death.

Edmonds was serving a 15-year sentence for burglary with explosives or a weapon. He was arrested in April 2010 and entered a plea bargain in which he pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery.

Limon is a high-security prison and can house about 930 inmates.
