DENVER (CBS4) – Volunteers on Wednesday took some time off from their busy schedules for an Xcel Energy Day of Service.
Employees at Arrow Electronics joined up with Valverde Elementary to give back the students and teachers.
Together with the Metro Volunteers organization, employees helped paint a new mural dedicated to the Denver students. They also participated in landscaping projects and renovations inside the school.
“I think that’s foundational in terms of engaging students, motivating students, and creating a place where they feel valued and respected as learners and want to come each and every day,” said Drew Schutz, incoming principal at Valverde Elementary.
About 250 people from Arrow Electronics helped the school get ready for the next semester starting in August.
