DENVER (CBS4) - The Nuggets coaching search could be nearing an end.

The names that have been surfacing in the search are Melvin Hunt, Mike D'Antoni and former Sacramento Kings coach Michael Malone.

The Nuggets don't seem to be in a hurry to make a decision, but they're currently busy scouting talent. Team President Josh Kroenke and General Manager Tim Connelly got a good long look at Willie Cauley-Stein Monday morning.

The athletic 7-footer from Kentucky has some range. He could be available when the Nuggets make their pick at number seven.

Cauley-Stein said he enjoyed his stop in Denver.

"It would be miserable if you sit here and just kind of drag through it. If you come in with an open mind, like today you're getting better. Not more of a tryout workout but more of an 'I'm just coming here to work and get my work in for a day,' " Cauley-Stein said. "That's the way I came in to do it. I didn't come in to try to impress anybody or do something out of my element. Just try to get better today."

Cauley-Stein said he didn't think the Nuggets brass knew he could hit three-pointers.

"I don't think any of them thought I could make a three-pointer or free throws. I showed today that I've got good mechanics on the shot … I'm doing it over and over and showing them that I'm confident in my shot and consistently make it."
