Trees Fall During Severe Storms, Strong Winds In Metro Area

DENVER (CBS4)- Severe storms that brought heavy rain, hail and strong winds across parts of Colorado on Friday night are being blamed for several downed trees.

One tree at 34th and Mead fell on two cars. The cars had minimal damage and no one was hurt.

Denver Police officers and a tow truck company tried to move the tree out of the way.

People inside the home were watching a movie when they heard the crash and saw lightning.

The tree will remain in the street until Saturday when crews can work in the daylight to remove it.

Police officers are not sure what caused the tree to come down, either lightning or wind, but they said the wind was blowing so strong it felt like a tornado.
