DA: Man In Shootout With Denver Officers Had Pointed Gun At Other People
DENVER (CBS4) - A man who was shot by police after he allegedly starting shooting at officers in downtown Denver last week has been formally charged.
According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Chisom Nwandilibe , 28 has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, menacing, and possession of a weapon by previous offender.
Nwandilibe is accused of pointing a gun at several people as he walked by them near 15th and California Streets at approximately 11:30 p.m. on May 25.

"Denver police responded to the area, located the suspect, and shots were exchanged," Kimbrough said in a statement.
Nwandilibe was shot in the arm by police. He was taken into custody near Broadway and Cleveland and transported to the hospital for treatment.
Kimbrough said Nwandilibe had a warrant for his arrest for a probation violation out of Denver. He remains in custody on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court next Monday for his second advisement on the charges.
