Inmate Accused Of Spitting On Larimer Co. Sheriff's Deputy

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- An inmate in the Larimer County Jail has been accused of spitting on a deputy and injuring his arm during a struggle. He also allegedly pushed a medical cart into a nurse.

Inmate Joshua Michael Rodriguez allegedly yelled at a nurse after becoming agitated at the Larimer County Jail about 9:36 p.m. Monday

He is also accused of yelling obscenities and threatening her with physical violence. Rodriguez, 28, then allegedly pushed a medical cart into the nurse several times before walking away and knocking over a computer at a nearby workstation.

The nurse was not injured.

Rodriguez is accused of physically resisting deputies as they tried to restrain him. He was escorted to booking where deputies say he continued to resist and spit on a deputy. One deputy's arm was injured during the struggle.

Rodriguez was not injured. He is facing the following charges: second-degree assault, harassment, obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.
