CU Gets Permission To Fly Drones Over Tornado Alley
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Researchers at the University of Colorado received some good news on Wednesday, the FAA gave them permission to fly drones over the portion of the nation known as "tornado alley."
Researchers at CU were granted special access to the skies over portions of tornado alley in Texas and Oklahoma.
The drones will take measurements to understand the origin and development of severe storms.
Last week an EF-1 tornado ripped through Bridgeport, Texas, causing a lot of damage.
