Parents On Edge After Child Groped At Playground

DENVER (CBS4) - Parents in Denver's Green Valley Ranch neighborhood are uneasy after a young girl reported a man inappropriately touched her on a playground.

It happened around 6 p.m. on May 16, but police just released a crime alert Friday afternoon.

Police say a young girl was with several other children at a playground near 41st and Jericho last Saturday when a man she didn't know approached her.

The crime alert says the adult male touched the girl inappropriately. He then left the area on a black and silver bicycle.

The incident has left parents in the neighborhood feeling uneasy.

"I don't like that that's going on in my neighborhood at all. I won't leave any of the kids that I know alone in it, definitely," said neighbor Michelle Thill.

The suspect is described as a tall, skinny, white male, 60 to 80 years old with short white hair and is bald on top. He has a white mustache and was wearing a burgundy long-sleeve button shirt and blue jeans.

Investigators are asking everyone in the area to keep an eye out.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). You can text to CRIMES (274637) then title DMCS and enter your message or send an e-mail to metro-denvercrimestoppers.com. If the information you provide leads to the arrest and charging of a wanted individual, you can receive a cash reward up to $2,000.
