'Liam' And 'Olivia' Top Baby Names In Colorado

DENVER (CBS4)- The top baby names in Colorado are in line with the rest of the nation with Liam coming in at the top for boys names and Olivia for girls.

The names for 2014 were released by the Social Security Administration website which also catalogs the number of U.S. births and other trends.

Liam was also the most popular boys name in the following states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Alaska, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Maine, Vermont, Delaware.

Olivia was also the most popular girls name in the following states: Washington, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Georgia, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire.

The top five baby names in Colorado for girls last year are Olivia, Emma, Sophia, Isabella and Evelyn.

For boys in 2014, the top five are Liam, Alexander, Noah, William and Logan.

There was also some spilling over of names into neighboring states such as Liam coming in on top in Colorado, it also number one in Nebraska. For Olivia in Colorado, it also ranked at the top for neighboring states Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska and Kansas.

The top names nationally are Noah and Emma, both came in second for Colorado in 2014.
