El Paso County Settles Harassment Claims Against Former Sheriff Terry Maketa

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - El Paso County is paying more than $200,000 to settle harassment claims against former Sheriff Terry Maketa.

Two sergeants filed claims against Maketa and former Undersheriff Paula Presley last year, alleging harassment and emotional abuse.

Maketa has also been accused of having affairs with three female subordinates and creating a hostile work environment.

A criminal investigation into Maketa's behavior is ongoing.
