Woman Admitted To Arvada Police She Shot A Man In Her Home

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - The victim of a shooting in Arvada on Tuesday remains hospitalized in serious condition while the accused shooter remains in custody.

The shooting occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. in the 6800 block of Simms Court.

According to Jill McGranahan with Arvada police, LaVern Thibodeaux, 54, called police and told them she had shot a man in her home. When officers arrived they found Eddie Goodwin, 34, inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound.

It's not clear what led up to the shooting.

Goodwin is expected to survive.

Thibodeaux is being held for investigation of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.

McGranahan said the investigation is ongoing.
