2 Suspects Arrested After Trying To Run Down Auraria Campus Officer

DENVER (CBS4) - Two men were arrested Monday morning after police say the driver tried to run over an Auraria Campus officer with the car they were in.

The suspects crashed the car near 8th Avenue and Interstate 25. Police didn't chase the car but officers caught the suspects after a brief foot chase when they used pepper balls and foam projectiles to stop them.

Both suspects were not injured but were taken to the hospital as a precaution. They face charges of attempted aggravated assault.

The campus officer wasn't injured.

The suspects' names haven't been released.
