This Week: Coachella Madness & Rita Wilson's Double Mastectomy

This week, there's more breast cancer news in Hollywood and Coachella is just as crazy as ever.

1. Coachella Chaos

Per usual, celebrities are out and about at Coachella. It seems every young celebrity worth mentioning is there, which means there's a ton happening.

But the most newsworthy event actually came from someone not so young anymore. Madonna herself made a surprise appearance during rapper Drake's performance this week at the festival, and after performing a three-song set in the middle of his act, decided to kiss the Toronto-born rapper right on his lips.

Needless to say, social media lost its mind.

As if that wasn't enough in the crazy department, pop star Rihanna also got some attention at the festival after video surfaced of the singer allegedly preparing something on a table in her tour bus while holding a small white cylinder in her hand. Many believe she was snorting cocaine, however Rihanna has silenced the rumors with an Instagram post of her holding a Coke can with the caption #petty.

Let them know, Rihanna!

2. Rita Wilson Scare

Actress Rita Wilson shared personal news this week in a recent People magazine article explaining how she was diagnosed with breast cancer, leading her to undergo a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

Rita explained to People magazine how "blessed" she was to have the support of her husband Tom Hanks, family, friends and most importantly the doctors who saved her life. The actress, who has been starring in Larry David's "Fish in the Dark" on Broadway, is expected to make a full recovery and to be back on stage May 5, according to her publicist Heidi Schaeffer.

3. Paltrow Poverty

Over the last week, Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow has been participating in the SNAP challenge, an exercise in which people grocery shop and live off of a food stamps budget for at least a week.

Since opting into the challenge, Paltrow has been derided by numerous publications as well as on social media for the Instagram photo she posted of the food she purchased for $29. Her supply of food included essentials like eggs and rice and other non-essentials like cilantro and limes…six whole limes to be exact. Many are arguing that her choice of foods is pretentious and out of touch with the reality of poverty.

 4. A Gisele Farewell

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen is bidding the runway farewell. The wife of quarterback Tom Brady walked down the runway for the last time in Brazil this week, with her husband watching from the front row.

Bundchen, who has been modeling since age 14, stated in a Facebook post that she's looking forward to leaving the runway so that she can concentrate on other work in the fashion industry.

So don't worry, you'll see her again very, very soon.
