Denver Fast-Food Workers Join National Protests

DENVER (AP) - Denver fast-food workers and their supporters are joining in national protests in favor of $15 an hour wages.

A group demonstrated inside a Denver McDonald's Wednesday morning and organizers expect hundreds of people to attend a rally at 5:15 p.m. on the Auraria Campus.

Demonstrations are planned in more than 230 cities and college campuses nationally in support of the Fight for $15 movement. Organizers say airport workers, home care workers, Walmart workers and adjunct professors are among those throwing their support behind the cause.

The campaign is being spearheaded by the Service Employees International Union and began in late 2012.
