Springs Police Begin 'John Shaming' In Hopes To Curb Prostitution

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Colorado Springs hope what's known as "John shaming" will cut down on prostitution.

The police department is publishing the names and mug shots of those convicted of soliciting a prostitute.

April Thompson was checking the site and found a familiar face -- her ex-boyfriend and father of her child.

"Had that not happened I would not have known my son's father was involved in something like this, and I find it wrong for a child to be around something like that," Thompson said.

Several other law enforcement agencies across the country have been John shaming for some time.
