Home Invasion Suspect Holds Family At Gunpoint

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Colorado Springs searched for four men who held a family at gunpoint after they forced their way into the family's home.

Police say two of the suspects held the adults at gunpoint in the family's living room about 4:30 a.m. Monday while the other suspects pulled the children from their beds.

Once the victims were all in the living room, the suspects began a brutal assault.

"They ran into her house, kicked the door down, pistol whipped her behind the back of her head, punched her 12-year-old son in the face and hit their elderly grandfather that's over there in a wheelchair," said neighbor Stephanie Simmons.

No one in the home was seriously hurt. The thieves took cash and cell phones.

The woman told police she believes they were targeted because she works at a bar and brings home cash every night.

The suspects are described as two white men and two black men all between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, and about 150 to 170 pounds. They were dressed all in black, were wearing masks and wore black gloves.
