Funeral For Cadet Who Died Mysteriously To Be Held At Air Force Academy

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (CBS4) - Funeral arrangements have been made for an Air Force Academy cadet who died under mysterious circumstances.

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations is handling the death investigation of 21-year-old Cadet 1st Class Alexandre Quiros. He was found injured in a dorm room on campus and pronounced dead at 3:43 p.m. on April 2.

The cause of his death is not known.

Quiros was a senior from Colorado Springs who was majoring in Astronautical Engineering. He made the Dean's List and Commandant's List multiple times.

"He was a wonderful and loving young man, a friend to all and a great son and brother. All who knew and loved him, will miss him," his obituary that was released on Tuesday said.

Quiros' funeral will be this Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel. Memorial donations in Quiros' name may be made to the Astronautics Department Fund.
