CDOT To Close Lanes Of I-25 For Construction Of New Off-Ramp To U.S. 6

DENVER (CBS4) – On Thursday the Colorado Department of Transportation will begin nightly lane closures on northbound Interstate 25 for work needed for construction of a new off-ramp bridge to U.S. 6.

Crews will be closing a right lane of traffic on northbound I-25 between Alameda Avenue and the U.S. 6 interchange from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through mid-May. The bridge to U.S. 6 is expected to open in mid-June.

"The work we're starting this week is the beginning of a positive change for area drivers," CDOT Project Director Kevin Sullivan said in a statement. "When the new bridge opens in June, drivers should notice an improvement in traffic movement on northbound I-25 through the interchange."

The Broadway on-ramp to northbound I-25 will also close Tuesday  from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday so crews can place signs and do striping work in preparation for the bridge construction.
