Babysitter Sentenced For Photographing, Selling Pornographic Images Of Kids

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4)- A man who targeted the children he was babysitting by photographing and selling the pornographic images was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty.

An Arapahoe County judge sentenced Pedro Teniende of Centennial to five years in the Department of Corrections and 10 years of sex offender intense supervised probation for two felony counts of sexual exploitation on Monday.

In 2010 Teniende, 29, moved to Colorado and babysat his friends' children frequently. He babysat the victims in the cases he was sentenced for between 2013 and 2014.

On February 7, 2014, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit tracked down the defendant after he posted a personal on Craigslist that contained the word "incest."

Teniende also posted images of child pornography in the ad and during conversation with the detective, he stated that he is interested in children ages "6 on up." Upon noticing that Teniende resided in Arapahoe County, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office handed the information over to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office.

On August 20, 2014, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office received a tip from the Denver FBI stating that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children located an IP address that uploaded four images of child pornography onto to the internet. Investigators also tracked the address to Teniende's home and executed a search warrant on September 4, 2014.

Investigators found one laptop near a bed and its owner was later identified as Teniende. It contained eleven folders containing child porn, and one additional folder titled "MY GIRLS." This folder contained 211 photos of the victims, who were between the ages of nine and twelve. Teniende saved the images of the girls with their shirts tucked up to expose their undeveloped breasts. Investigators also located a thumb drive with approximately 130,000 images and the defendant's phone contained over 10,000 images and 150 videos.

Teniende pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation induce/entice, a class three felony and one count of sexual exploitation 20+ videos, a class four felony.

"What possible sentence can render justice to a person who would create child pornography of the young children entrusted to his care, and then sell tens of thousands of images? The permanent results of Pedro Teniende's disgusting and
selfish urge to exploit children ensures that other similarly depraved individuals will get to satisfy their urges at the expense of these innocent girls. Long after Teniende is out of prison and off parole, these images will still be out there. Colorado must do more to protect our children and
punish those who exploit them," said District Attorney George Brauchler.
