KCNC Gets First Of Its Kind Robotic Cameras

DENVER (CBS4) - Technology was booming in the '90s, with the invention of many devices we take for granted today -- computers, the internet, and cell phones. News stations were also part of the technological advances.

In 1990, KCNC-TV was one of the first news stations in the United States to utilize robotic cameras in the television studio. It meant the camera did not have to rely on manpower and could function without a cameraman. The robotic cameras were a part of a state-of-the-art studio remodel in 1991.

Today's cameras are even more advanced and, like most everything else, run on a digital program. They are now capable of shooting in HD, can be programmed to move position, and translate codes into behavior.
