Victim Of Road Rage Incident Says He's 'Feeling Well Considering' In Hospital Statement

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a road rage incident over the weekend in Aurora issued a statement about his condition on Tuesday.

Jonathan Luna, 26, of Thornton was seriously injured in Sunday's incident. Police say a passenger in a car was having a dispute with Luna when the passenger jerked the wheel of the car, crashing into the motorcycle and forcing both vehicles to roll over on northbound Interstate 225 between Iliff and Mississippi avenues.

"I am feeling well considering the extent of my injuries. I am blessed to have my family and friends by my side at this time and am thankful for the paramedics and health care professionals that have taken care of me," Luna said in a statement while he recovers in the hospital.

On Monday Luna was listed in fair condition. Court documents show he suffered a broken foot, ankle and a punctured lung.

The driver of the car, Danielle Marie Buffum, 24, was also injured. Police say the passenger, Michael Christopher Hall, 25, was arrested on suspicion of assault and attempted homicide. He was not injured.

Buffum is recovering from her injuries at home. The Arapahoe County District Attorney's Office says the case is still under investigation and they have not yet determined if Buffum could be facing charges as well.
