The 6-foot-3 player from Australia led the Roadrunners to a 26-6 record in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season this year with 20 points a game. He also boasts a 3.8 grade point average in the classroom.

McCarron is one of many Aussies to make the trek to Metro State. Now he hopes to go professional somewhere.

"Before I came to college I knew that I wanted to play professionally. That was a goal of mine, but at the same time that just shows the development that goes on here at Metro," McCarron said. "It became kind of like a dream, but now it's a reality. I know that I have the confidence that I can go and play at that level … I really have Metro State to thank for that."

Year in, year out, Metro State produces great basketball teams and amazing basketball players. Last year Metro guard Brandon Jefferson was named the Player of the Year.
