Boulder Arts Week Kicks Off With 'Insane Colorful Madness'

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Boulder is home to the eighth largest concentration of artists in the country, and for the next week that art will be on full display.

The second annual celebration of the city's art and culture showcases many different talents through Boulder Arts Week.

Scott Carter is exhibiting his first showing inside Foolish Craig's Cafe in Boulder. He said, "It's the only place that I could think of that fit with my art."

"Kind of insane colorful madness," are just a few words that come to mind when viewing Carter's work.

"It's kind of a subconscious vomit of my childish thoughts," he explained.

He is one of over 100 Boulder artists and art organizations participating in the second annual Boulder Arts Week.

Throughout the next week, at events across the city, fine art, sculptures, dance, theater, music and outdoor art experiences will all be on display.

From experienced artists and performances, to first timers like Carter, you'll find all that and more at Boulder Arts Week.

As he describes the festival, "It's just wild colors and wild images that you should have fun looking at."

CBS4 is a proud sponsor of Boulder Arts Week, which lasts through April 4.
