Police Search For Man Wanted In String Of Church Burglaries
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Englewood are searching for a man they believe is responsible for a series of burglaries at churches in the city.
Police believe the same man is responsible for break-ins at nine churches since May 2014. Several churches have been hit more than once.
Surveillance video at Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 3695 S. Acoma Street, captured images of the burglar during two separate break-ins on Aug. 20, 2014 and Sept. 13, 2014.
"They had broken in through a window, went into the treasurer's office, hoping they would find money," said First Presbyterian Church spokeswoman Nan Feller.
Feller said the thief took less than $200 but the damage was even more. She said anyone who expected to find cash from the collection plate would be mistaken.
"The church takes their deposit over to the bank that morning so that's not there and I just don't get a lot of cash," said Feller.
The Englewood Police Department is also seeking any information on the following additional church burglaries, believed to have occurred during late night and/or early morning hours:

Several churches in the area have improved their security with surveillance cameras.
