Denver Muckfest: Get Dirty To Feel Squeaky Clean

DENVER (CBS4) - Another fun and active National MS Society event is coming to Denver this year. In addition to Bike MS Colorado and Walk MS Denver, the National MS Society is hosting a muddy obstacle run!

Muckfest MS Denver is a 5K race that takes participants through muddy tunnels, drops them in mucky puddles, and challenges them with slippery muck ropes. Unlike other wild fitness runs, no training is required for this fundraiser.

All you need, as their website states, is a sense of humor and change of clothes. Muckfest MS stops in numerous cities across the country and will be outside Denver on Saturday, May 16 at the Music Mountain Amphitheater in Larkspur.

Registration is currently open and costs $80 until April 29, then the full price of $105 is available until May 16. You can register a team of friends, find a team to join, build a team on the website with other solo competitors, or none of the above and simply race yourself.

Spectators are welcome and can watch competitors struggle in mud for free. The event will have before and after photo ops, because who wouldn't want to see the comparison?

After crossing the finish line you can attempt to clean yourself at a wash station, grab a free beer or soda, and discuss who had the best wipe outs of the day.

The event is sure to be full of adrenaline and comedy, all while supporting the National MS Society and people in our local community living with MS.
