Teen Girl, Dog Shot In Target Parking Lot In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Aurora police are investigating after a teenage girl and a dog were shot at a Target store during a robbery.

According to police, the incident occurred at the Target located at 14200 East Ellsworth Avenue at approximately 8:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said three or four Hispanic male suspects approached the girl and her boyfriend in the Target parking lot and robbed them of cash. When the victims tried to escape the girl was shot in the arm. She's expected to recover. Her dog was also hit and was still alive. Its condition isn't known.

The suspects left in an older model white car, possibly a Honda.

Police are investigating to see if the incident was a drug deal gone bad.
