Woman Arrested After Allegedly Telling Deputy She Tried To Kill Him

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- A woman is in custody after she allegedly told a Boulder County Sheriff's deputy that she wanted to kill him.

Deputy Eric Robinson was driving along Highway 36 about 2 a.m. Friday near Neva Road north of Boulder. The deputy said Jessica Hargest, was driving a minivan in the oncoming lanes, northbound, when she aimed her vehicle at his car.

"He moved over once and saw that she was continuing in his lane so he moved over even farther to get off the shoulder of the road and she still continued, she did the same maneuver, still pointing toward him," said Boulder County Sheriff's Office Commander Heidi Prentup.

Hargest's minivan narrowly missed Robinson and drove off the west side of the road, rolling off the shoulder of the road.

Robinson went to the minivan and spoke with Hargest, 28, the sole occupant of the minivan. The investigation showed that she was trying to kill him but investigators are not sure if Hargest knew Robinson was a deputy.

Hargest suffered minor injuries in the crash and she was treated at Boulder Community Health.

Hargest was booked into the Boulder County Jail on charges of criminal attempt murder in the second degree and additional traffic charges.
