Woman Accused In Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash On Federal Boulevard Formally Charged

DENVER (CBS4) - A woman who was allegedly driving drunk and killed a pedestrian in Denver has been formally charged.

According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Alicia Contos, 41, has been charged with vehicular homicide-DUI and vehicular homicide-reckless in connection with the fatal auto-pedestrian crash last Sunday.

"The charges allege that on the evening of March 8 at the intersection of North Federal Boulevard and West 14th Avenue, Contos was driving drunk when she caused a fatal crash resulting in the death of a pedestrian," Kimbrough said in a statement.

Ruben Marquez, 57, was killed in the crash.

Contos remains in custody and her bond is set at $50,000. She is scheduled to appear in court for her second advisement on Friday.
