Police say the SUV, a GMC Yukon Denali, rear-ended a Ford Escort, veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a Ford F-150.

Police Sgt. William Revelle says a 45-year-old woman driving the Escort and a 60-year-old man driving the pickup were killed.

Revelle says the 30-year-old driver of the SUV survived and was taken to a hospital. His condition wasn't immediately available.

No names have been released.

Investigators said the driver had come from a bar and is suspected of DUI as well as speeding. They said the driver could face charges of vehicular homicide as well as DUI.

Steven Lohner was one of several people who tried to help those involved in the crash.

He told CBS4 he broke out a window of the SUV in an effort to get that driver out of his car.

"He was really, really angry. I broke out that window. I could smell the alcohol. He got out of there. He was saying 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry.' and then he started screaming 'Don't call the cops.' "

Police said the woman who was killed was following another vehicle that her boyfriend was in. That man's car wasn't involved in the crash.
