Young Victims Of Brutal Attack In Summit County Were Accusing Suspect Of Sexual Assault

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (CBS4) - A man accused in a brutal attack on three young girls at a condominium complex in Summit County had a history police history with the girls.

According to police, all three girls were attacked by Sky Wodraska, 37, at the Great Divide Condominiums in Breckenridge over the weekend. One of the victims -- a 14-year-old --- remains in critical condition.

Sky Wodraska appeared in court on Monday where it was learned that he had preyed on the same young girls in the past. According to the court records, the girls started reporting Wodraska to authorities in 2014 for sexual attacks that happened around the holidays in 2013.

One law enforcement source said the latest attack was "a quantum leap forward" in the style of attack on the girls.

Saturday morning a 911 call came in from Great Divide Condominiums just after 1 a.m. A 10-year-old had been bound and gagged and a 14 year old was stabbed three times, including a vicious slash of her neck. She's still in critical condition.

Deputies were able to track down Wodraska as he was self-inflicting himself with wounds. He was taken to the hospital and treated before appearing in court on Monday.

Court documents say Wodraska sexually assaulted the girls when he was their mother's boyfriend. Those cases have been playing out and Wodraska has become better known to police in the area, but nothing in his record is this violent.

"This is such an important case. This is an attempted murder against a 14-year-old child where somebody broke into the home; an adult who at one point was trusted," District Attorney Bruce Brown said.

Wodraska has been out on bond while the other cases were going through the legal process. The judge on Monday set his bond at $2 million, saying his extensive criminal history lately and the minor victims make him a danger if he were able to get out of jail.

Wodraska is also going to have a mental evaluation.

If convicted of the eight charges he currently faces, Wodraska could spend the rest of his life in prison.
