GOP Moving Bill To Repeal Colorado's Ammo Magazine Limits

DENVER (AP) - Republicans who have spent two years criticizing limits on the size of ammunition magazines will start advancing a repeal of the 2013 Colorado law passed by Democrats in response to mass shootings.

A bill to strike the law is expected to pass a Republican-led Senate committee Monday. GOP lawmakers tried repealing the law last year, but Democrats controlled both legislative chambers and they rejected the proposal.

This year, Republicans control the Senate for the first time in 10 years and three Democrats in the chamber are also voting for the repeal, making certain the bill will go to the House. But Democrats are still in control there, and they've made clear they won't repeal the law limiting ammunition magazines to 15 rounds. They've already rejected a repeal attempt this year.
