Police Arrest Man Wanted For Hitting Brighton Officer With SUV

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4) - A man accused of hitting a Brighton police officer with an SUV and crashing into three patrol cars is behind bars.

Mark Duane Molstad, 52, was taken into custody Saturday evening. Police told CBS4's Howard Nathan that working on a tip they were able to lure Molstad to a vacant house. When he arrived, he attempted to flee and officers used a stun gun to help apprehend him.

Police say Molstad was following his ex-wife in a vehicle when he hit and injured one officer last month. Police chased him and say Molstad hit three patrol cars.

The chase was called off to protect the public.
