Winter Storm Heightens Avalanche Danger
DENVER (CBS4) - New snow has increased avalanche danger in parts of the high country.
Much of Colorado's mountain range has some level of avalanche danger. Durango has low danger, while Alamosa, Grand Junction and the Montrose area are listed as moderate.
The orange shaded areas on the map indicate considerable avalanche danger, including around Colorado Springs and Canon City. Glenwood Springs is the middle of considerable avalanche danger, and most of the range north to the state's border is also listed as considerable.
