Colorado Man Pleads Guilty to A Bank Robbery In New Mexico

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — A Colorado man has pleaded guilty to the armed robbery of a bank in New Mexico in 2012.

Prosecutors say 44-year-old Robert O'Dell Neihart, of Ignacio, entered his plea Friday in federal court in Las Cruces.

A sentencing hasn't been set yet. But under terms of his plea agreement, prosecutors say Neihart is facing between 148 months to 161 months in prison followed by a term of supervised release to be determined by the court.

Neihart was accused of robbing a Wells Fargo Bank branch in Farmington with a semi-automatic pistol on Sept. 21, 2012.

He approached a teller and handing her a two-page letter demanding money.

Neihart admitted using the pistol to shoot at police vehicles that pursued him after the bank robbery.

He later was arrested in Colorado.
