To Propose On A Jumbotron Or Not To Propose On A Jumbotron?

DENVER (CBS4) - After rookie Mark Hubbard publicly proposed to his girlfriend at the PGA tournament, it got us wondering about other sports proposals. Namely, those performed on the jumbotron.

Maybe you both love a particular sports team, and maybe nothing would be more romantic to you than a proposal at that team's game, made even more special and grandiose by being broadcast across the jumbotron for all your fellow fans to see. But the question remains: is it really a good idea?

Mark Haas did some research [for a friend] and got a variety pack of responses.

One woman said no because it's unoriginal. Another said no, but because there are just too many variables.

Most men were fired up about the idea, one exclaiming, "greatest game in the world, greatest idea in the world." But another man said it was a bad idea when he considered the "rejection in front of 50,000 people."

Another woman changed her mind after seeing a jumbotron proposal done in real life, wishing she had been asked that way.

What do you think? Would you want (to receive or give) a jumbotron proposal?

If that's not your thing, here are some top spots to propose in the Denver area. And if you want to do something unique but more private, check out our tips for how to propose on vacation.
