Denver Ties Record For Number Of 70-Degree Days So Early In The Year

DENVER (CBS4) - The high temperature at Denver International Airport hit 70°F at 12:07 p.m. on Feb. 14, making it the second warmest Valentine's Day on record.

It was also the sixth time the temperature has hit 70-degrees since Jan. 1.

Jan. 26 - 71°F
Jan. 27 - 75°F
Feb. 6 - 70°F
Feb. 7 - 74°F
Feb. 9 - 70°F
Feb. 14 - 70°F

According to the National Weather Service office in Boulder, the last and only time this ever happened was in 1954.

Although the temperature can occasionally hit 70-degrees or higher during the first two months of the year in Denver, it's often an isolated occurrence.

In 1904 there were four 70-degree days during January and February, and three in 1982, 1963, 1932, 1890 and 1888.
