RTD Bus & Pedestrian Accident Shuts Down I-25

DENVER (CBS4) - Interstate 25 was shut down Friday morning just before 7 a.m. after an accident involving a bus and a pedestrian happened beneath the East 104th Avenue overpass.

All northbound lanes and one left lane of southbound traffic were closed on I-25. Traffic was directed off of the highway and then back on at East 104th Avenue.

The victim, a 32-year-old man, was severely injured but survived the accident. Police said it is unclear why the pedestrian was walking along the highway.

The RTD bus was not carrying any passengers, and the driver was cooperative.

Northbound I-25 reopened at about 9:40 a.m., after being closed for two hours.
