Sheridan Police Officer Struck By Vehicle, Suspects Sped Away

SHERIDAN, Colo. (CBS4)- A Sheridan Police officer is recovering after he was struck by a vehicle as it sped away from a 7-Eleven.

The police officer attempted to contact three Hispanic males who were acting suspicious about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven located at 3391 W. Hampden Ave. in Sheridan.

The officer was in a marked patrol unit and full police uniform when he tried to approach them. That's when the officer said they quickly got into their vehicle and pulled away.

While fleeing the scene they struck the officer and knocked him to the ground.

The description of the vehicle is a light blue four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Sentra. The vehicle did not have license plates on it and only had a crumpled temporary tag in the rear passenger window. It is believe the vehicle may be stolen.

The officer is expected to be okay.
