DIA Seeking More Direct International Flights

DENVER (AP) — Denver International Airport is hosting representatives from 275 airports and more than 80 airlines this week, and is taking the opportunity to lobby for more direct flights to the rest of the world.

The Denver Post reported Monday that DIA is looking in particular at carriers like Turkish Airlines and China Southern Airlines.

Airport CEO Kim Day told the Post Denver has a strong economy and a young, educated workforce, and that DIA passengers have embraced the chance to go to new places. Direct flights to Tokyo and Panama City have recently been added to the Denver schedule.

The Routes Americas conference at DIA has attracted more than 600 delegates from around the world.
