6 Suspected Of Sexually Assaulting Englewood Freshman

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - A teenager who is one of six suspects in a sex assault in Englewood is at large and police say locating him is a top priority.

As of Friday at noon, five people had been arrested in the case. Their ages range from 15 to 19. The only suspect over 16 is Daylon Hill, 19.

Police say the sex assault allegedly happened Sunday at a party attended by between 10 and 12 people, including the victim. There was allegedly underaged drinking and marijuana involved.

Authorities say the victim is a female Englewood High School freshman. She is back at school and adminstrators say they are doing everything they can to make sure she is safe. Counselors are also available being made for students who need support.

Some of the suspects also attend Englewood High. School administrators said at least one of the suspects was arrested on campus.

The group of suspects also includes students from two other schools in Englewood.

In addition to criminal charges, the minors in the case face possible suspension or expulsion from school.

An Englewood High freshman said he has classes with the suspect who has yet to be captured in the case.

"That kid used to be my best friend so it's kind of hard to deal with it knowing I used to be friend with someone who could do something like that," he said.

Sergio Chavez, another Englewood High freshman, told CBS4 he is disturbed by the news.

"It makes me feel unsafe to know that there people at our school that would do that to people, makes me feel unsafe at parties," Chavez said.
