Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car While Chasing Stray Dog

PUEBLO, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - A woman has died after she was hit by a car while trying to rescue a stray dog.

The accident happened Saturday at approximately 6:30 p.m. at Colorado Highway 50 and Colorado Highway 233 in Pueblo County.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, a car driven by William Anaya, 62, from Pueblo was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 when it struck Beverly Dietz, 65, from Pueblo.

Dietz was pronounced dead at the scene. Anaya wasn't injured.

The Colorado State Patrol says investigators do not believe drugs, alcohol or speed were factors in the accident.
