Suspect Turns Self Into Police In Road Rage Case

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora say the suspect wanted for kicking in a car window that left a passenger with lacerations all over his face, turned himself in.

Benjamin Hill and two other teens were driving home from school Tuesday afternoon when two strangers in another car drove up alongside them, allegedly cat-calling to the girls inside and getting furious as the teens mocked them.

Police said Bryce Daren Bivins turned himself into detectives about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. He was arrested for second-degree assault and criminal mischief charges.

Bivins, 19, is currently being held on a $50,000 bond at the Aurora Detention Center.

"I think he was sick in the mind and got mad that the girls had no desire to talk to him and we were not interested in any way," said Hill, who was a passenger in the car.

The cars stopped in traffic at the intersection of East Hampden Avenue and South Tower Road when one of the suspects got out of their car and targeted Hill, kicking him in the face through the passenger window.

The impact broke Hill's nose and he sustained multiple lacerations and possibly a concussion. He also found glass in his mouth.

Police said they were able to track down Bivins by investigating the license plate numbers given to detectives by the victim and witnesses. They located a silver Chevy Impala that listed to an address only a couple of blocks away from the scene of the crime which led them to Bivins. No other arrests are expected.
